Icons are windows into heaven allowing light to shine through to reveal new spiritual depths into the mystery of redemption.
This icon was prayerfully ‘written’ in the Greek tradition based on the Gospel of St. Luke.
Our Mother of Perpetual Help is an icon of Christ and his, and our, Mother. This image reveals the Reality of Redemption.
On April 26, 1866 Pope Pius IX gave into the hands of the Redemptorists in Rome the ancient icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help to “make her known throughout the world.” Since then this icon of “great veneration and fame for its miracles” has been treasured in every corner of the world in countless churches, shrines and homes.
