I was born and educated in the Mindanao Province of the Philippines. I followed the call to religious life while in my early 20s and entered the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart. I spent my novitiate at the motherhouse in Rome, Italy and later served her community in many positions of responsibility including supervision of a retreat house in Assisi.
I desired to pursue the contemplative call and to love Jesus Christ with all of my heart. So, on August 2, 2005, I came to Fort Erie, Canada to experience monastic life with the Redemptoristine Nuns. This was also the year I learned about Mother M. Celeste. I never heard of her before. After a few months, the Prioress wanted me to make an exhibit in honor of Mother Celeste’s birthday, October 31. I started reading some of her writings and found one phrase that inspired me. The Italian version is so poetic I never forgot it: “Io sono come una goccia d’acqua che cade in Te e si transforma in quell’immenso mare.” “I am like a drop of water which falls into You and is changed in that cast sea where I lose my own being.” By Celeste’s total humility in God’s presence she let God transform her in His Divine goodness. I will quote from 1 Peter5:6 “Humble yourselves, therefore under God’s mighty hands, that He may lift you up in due time.” Her beatification June 18, 2016, is the fulfillment of God’s Divine intervention of lifting Celeste up in due time. “To God be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
In 2009, I transfered to the Redemptoristine Nuns in Esopus, New York and professed my Solemn Vows of chastity, poverty and obedience on August 11, 2012.
